07.05.08 - 14.44h: RetroChic

Aceitando o desafio de pantufas, através deste site, foi o que me calhou... E eu que já sonho no recheio do velho ninho...
São ideias de (re)decoração! (em inglês, desculpem)

RETRO CHIC
You have a collector's eye for individual pieces that give your home a real sense of personality and style, that special je ne sais quoi. The overall look may be retro, but it's anything but kitsch; your innate understanding of what works together (not to mention the origin of each piece) embosses your home with an enduring elegance of its own which is neither overtly modern nor faux-period.
Living Room
Your outlook is shaped by a love of design from the recent past. The Europhile living room revels in style icons from the not-too-distant past. It's almost modern, but recreates a perfect mythical ideal of our parents' youth - of picket fences and bubblegum pop, ice-cream sodas and sleek classic cars with elegant tail fins. All of these details are useful design references for furnishing your living room: this is a look that is fun and optimistic, but also streamlined and knowingly nostalgic. Accessorising the room with a more classic look will certainly provide a counterpoint to more outre pieces of furniture, but beware of diluting the look too much or, indeed, over-egging it. Cool, vibrant colours make a living room feel fresh and airy, while glamorous prints and patterns are fun and stylish. Having worked wonders in the kitchen, you deserve a bit of quality time in the living room where you can relax and unwind.
Bedroom
It's a man's world in the master bedroom. Sleep is fundamentally important to our well being. In busy towns and cities, noise can often hamper a good night's sleep. Soft furnishings really do absorb sound, and touch is such an important sense in the bedroom, from crisp, linen sheets to wool or even sheepskin underfoot. You have quite a masculine - some might say hard - style in your bedroom, using earthy, rustic colours and textures to create a sense of harmony with the natural world.
Dining Room
You're a modern maverick, a supremely elegant entertainer. At home, you have a fresh, contemporary dining style that is versatile and achievable on almost any budget. Keeping the basics simple, try using colour or picking something a bit unusual to add character and to give the dining area some definition. Good design and quality materials can really lift a place setting. When it comes to entertaining, you like to pull out all the stops.
Home Office
You have a place for everything and everything has its place. No matter how independent you might be, like everybody else you'll have bills to pay. A dedicated home office will help you keep on top of the 'boring bits'. The modernist adage that form should follow function is nowhere better demonstrated than in the home office: keep things simple and add your own sense of style by using a splash of colour or a single, well-chosen decorative piece.
Conclusion
Your home is sharp and modern, but with a nostalgic nod to an idealised world in the not-too-distant past.

Ou seja: discreta qb, elegante sem armar ao pingarelho, confortável para toda a ocasião, com a dose certa de carisma e com lampejos glam. :)
